Searching T3DB
The T3DB text supports advanced searching using boolean logic (AND, OR, NOT operations). To match a string exactly, place quotes around your search term (for example "arsenic acid" will only match the arsenic followed by acid, it will not match arsenic or acid alone). You can also search using "wild cards" by inserting a "*" in your search term. For example, searching for "arsen*" will match all words starting with "arsen". In addition, text search supports parenthetical groupings, and prepended +plus and -minus operators.
Example | Description |
---|---|
arsenic AND metalloid | Find all entries containing both arsenic and carcinogen in the metabocard |
(arsenic OR mercury) AND NOT acid | Find all metabolites containing arsenic, mercury or both, but not containing acid |
"arsenic acid" | Find all metabolites where the entire term "arsenic acid" is found. In other words, don't match "arsenic" or "acid" alone. |
"arsenic acid" AND description:metalloid | Find all compounds where the entire term "acetic acid" is found and carcinogen is listed in the description. |
name:arsen* AND description:metalloid | Find all compounds that start with "arsen" and have carcinogen listed in the description. |
T3DB text query also supports a high-level search interface allowing you to narrow your search to specific fields. To use this interface, simply enter the field name followed by a colon and your query term (see last example).
